First competition of the year, first title: Teddy Riner won the French Team Championship in Villebon-sur-Yvette on Saturday. PSG Judo, under the leadership of Riner, defeated Longjumeau, FLAM 91, in the final by a score 3-2.

Three-time Olympic champion Riner had led his team to victory against Eure Judo, Dojo Beglais and Dojo Belis with ippons after 29 seconds and 22 seconds, respectively. Although the final was more intense, Riner, 33 years old, managed to draw positives from his first day in competition in 2022.

"I had an amazing day, but it's still only French level, so that's why I'll keep working," the ten-time world champion said before looking forward to the Grand Slam in Budapest (July 8-10). The Guadeloupean enjoyed the collective adventure, aided by more than 100 Parisian fans in the Grand Dome stands. He savored the experience as a group.

PSG Judo's Teddy Riner, who participated in the revival of 2017 in Judo, is celebrating with the coronation ceremony for the women's team that won 3-1 in Blanc-Mesnil final. Marie-Eve Gahie (Parisian) and Romane Dicko were the European champions, respectively, at the start of May. Amandine Buchard, Tokyo Olympic vice-champion (-52kg), won the final with an inippon in eight seconds.
