World Cup qualification: DFB women fear poor space conditions in Plovdiv

Despite the fact that they have already secured participation in the World Cup, Germany's women's footballers want to put in a convincing performance in the final World Cup qualifier against Bulgaria.

"We want to play with enthusiasm and play well," said midfielder Sara Däbritz ahead of Tuesday's game (6:30 p.m./One) in Plovdiv.

However, the DFB women fear an additional opponent - the lawn. "We fear that the framework conditions are not good. We have to see how we can play football there," said national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg.

If the space conditions do not correspond to the normal standard, the EM second wants to adapt his playing style to the conditions. "That's at the expense of the speed of the game, because you can't play one-touch football," said Däbritz. "But no matter what the place looks like, we have to find solutions and we will give everything."
