There is no break for Nathalie Armbruster these days. The 17-year-old Nordic combined athlete from Freudenstadt rushes from highlight to highlight: Tuesday flag bearer at the opening ceremony of the Nordic World Ski Championships, Friday World Championship silver in the individual, Sunday premiere in the World Championship Mixed and then from the valley of the hills in Planica, Slovenia, directly to the German capital.
"I'm going from here to Berlin on Monday on a study trip - full program," said the overjoyed Armbruster after she had taken second place behind Norway's Gyda Westvold Hansen after a normal hill jump and the five-kilometer run.
"The medal will definitely have a special place. I still have to think about it, where I see it most often and where I can remember the great World Cup. I'll definitely find a good place," said the 17-year-old, who says she doesn't drink alcohol yet and therefore toasted her team with non-alcoholic sparkling wine.
Another medal is realistic in mixed on Sunday. National coach Florian Aichinger initially left open who would get the second women's place next to Armbruster.
