UK: Reports: Boris Johnson landed in London

British ex-prime minister and possible re-candidate Boris Johnson has reportedly landed in London on a scheduled airliner. With his wife Carrie Johnson and his children, the 58-year-old boarded a plane in the Dominican Republic on Friday, as a local Sky News reporter observed. The correspondent reported "mixed reactions" - some boos came from fellow passengers and disbelieving looks were exchanged. The British Airways plane landed at London's Gatwick Airport on Saturday morning.

According to a party colleague, the British ex-prime minister is in the starting blocks for a renewed candidacy for the office at the top of the government. Johnson said he was "ready" and wanted to compete, Conservative MP James Duddridge said in a Sky News interview on Friday evening. Several media had previously reported that Johnson was interested in running for office. Several cabinet members have already spoken out in favor of the scandal politician returning.

Johnson resigned in July after enormous pressure over an affair about parties at the seat of government during the corona lockdown. The timing of Johnson's long-distance trip had sparked criticism as the House of Commons is in session weeks and Johnson remains a regular MP.
