After a Russian rocket hit a residential building in the southern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhia, two more dead were recovered by Friday morning. This was announced by the Ukrainian civil defense. The death toll after Thursday's attack rose to at least four. Eight people in the multi-storey building were injured. Several residents were also missing. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced retaliation in his evening video address on Thursday.

According to local authorities on Friday morning, two civilians were killed by Russian shelling in the Donetsk region. Regarding the military situation, the Ukrainian general staff announced that heavy fighting continued, particularly in Donbass in the east of the country. Over the past 24 hours, 85 Russian attacks have been repelled. This military information could not be independently verified. The Kupyansk, Liman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Wuhledar front sectors were also named as the location of the battles.
