Bonjour Paris: The view from next door: How

Last week there was a small scandal in the café on the corner. A guest, in his mid-forties, had made fun of a woman on a magazine cover. She wasn't famous, just some agency photo.

The guest, however, now felt that the lady was too unattractive to be presented scantily clad - she was wearing a tight dress with spaghetti straps - on a front page: "I'm interested in aesthetics. I would say the same thing about an ugly man." It was obvious that he wanted to provoke a conversation. However, no one at the bar was interested in his comments. Everyone continued reading their newspapers.
