After a successful second season, "Sisi" fans can look forward to a third round of the RTL series. The broadcaster announced this on Wednesday (February 15). Dominique Devenport (27) and Jannik Schümann (30) once again slip into the roles of the legendary Empress Elisabeth and Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria.

It is not yet known when it will start. Seasons one and two were released just before Christmas in 2021 and 2022, so the third season is likely to start in December 2023.

In December 2022, RTL initially released the second season of "Sisi" on RTL, where, according to the broadcaster, it was the most successful series restart on the streaming service to date. In the linear TV program, the season could not build on the coverage of the first round. Instead of continuously more than two million viewers as in season one, according to "DWDL.de" there were only 1.41 million in front of the screen at the start.
