Sylvester Stallone: The near-divorce was a "revival"

The 25-year marriage of Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone (76) and Jennifer Flavin (54) recently came close to failing. The couple had separated in August of this year and already decided to divorce, but called it off just a month later and found each other again instead. Speaking to The Sunday Times, the actor opened up about the emotional roller coaster ride and admitted it was his job to get his priorities straight.

"Let's put it this way: It was a turbulent time," Stallone says of the past few weeks and months. "There was a reawakening of what is absolutely most important to me and that is my love for my family. It takes priority over my work and that was a hard lesson to learn." With his open words, the star therefore suggests that, as a workaholic, he recently had too little time for his loved ones, which apparently led to a temporary break with his wife.

In the meantime, however, these discrepancies are obviously a thing of the past. In mid-October, the two, together with their daughters Sistine (24) and Sophia (26), made their comeback as a family in public at a Ralph Lauren show in San Marino, California. "They met at home, talked and were able to work out their differences. They are both very happy," a spokesman for the actor previously told the New York Post's Page Six gossip portal.

Stallone and Flavin met in 1988. In the summer of 1990, the two appeared together on the red carpet for the first time in Los Angeles. But a wedding should be a long time coming. Instead, the hip model and actor split in 1994. They later reunited and married in 1997. The couple have three daughters together: Sophia, Sistine and Scarlet (20).
