Wadas vice president after Russia's exclusion: 'The biggest scandal ever'

Russian athletes can still participate in international sporting events for the next four years, if they make up under a neutral flag.

And the option is Wadas vice president, Linda Hofstad Helleland, a bit disappointed.

"I'm not satisfied with today's decision, but it is so far, we could go," she says to the Norwegian media NRK.

She does not think that the punishment is harsh enough for the Russian athletes:

"It means that we can experience hundreds of Russian practitioners in both Tokyo and Beijing. It is not any punishment, which hurts in any way."

Linda Hofstad Helleland seems, the decision fails the rest of the world's athletes.

"as long As they can participate under the neutral flag, so they are still russians, and they can get medals. Flag or not. It is not essential. The world's practitioners had wanted a perfect quarantine," she says to the media.

She believes that Russia, in the way that the exclusion is put together, can live with the decision.

the Decision from Wada came on the basis of Russia for a number of years has seen large on anti-doping rules by manipulating provided antidopingdata, before the data was handed over to Wada.

"I think it is the greatest sportsskandale ever. They should apologize for the pain that all practitioners around the world have experienced because of it, they did," says the vice president.

Monday's decision means that Russia is excluded from participation at the OLYMPIC games in 2020, the winter OLYMPICS in 2022 and the WORLD cup in 2022.

the Exclusion will not affect the country's EM-participation to the summer, because the country is qualified and the host country for the football championship.
