Coronavirus: France prohibits treatment with hydroxychloroquine

In France, may not be treated Covid-19-Ill with the Malaria Drug hydroxychloroquine. A corresponding decree was published by the government on Wednesday, as the Ministry of health announced.

Previously, had advised against France's High Council for public health and the Agency for medicinal products safety, ANSM of the treatment with the drug, and the suspension appropriate to the clinical studies initiated.

Since the end of March to patients with severe Covid were in France-19-gradients under strict medical supervision with the Malaria Drug to be treated.

This exception has now been overturned. "Whether the family doctor or in a hospital, this medication in patients suffering from Covid-19, should not be prescribed", the Ministry of health.

In the specialist magazine 'The Lancet' had not reported to researchers on the basis of a comprehensive data analysis that the Malaria drug hydroxychloroquine and the very similar chloroquine are likely to be used for the treatment of Covid-19 and the active ingredients may even be the death rate increase.

The world health organization (WHO) suspended the Tests with the drug hydroxychloroquine then for the time being.
