Rex was happy to hear his family sing Happy Birthday. He eagerly jumped up and took a closer look at that towering, sparkling-topped cake. There, he saw the sweet, artistic tribute to the family's pets dogs in the form fondant models.

Rex, who saw Teddy and Peanut wearing party hats in the Instagram video, exclaimed, "Look! Peanut! Has he got a birthday cap? After a brief moment of suspense, and a nervous giggle by mum, Rex continued in amazement: "... and Theo! Yay!" Stacey was thrilled. Theo, the beloved family dog, died last December.

Stacey captioned the photo with a teary-eyed emoticon, "Rex is in love" This thoughtful gesture was so sweet that celebrities and fans alike sent Rex happy birthday wishes in droves.

Mrs Hinch, a fellow DIY queen and best friend, was one of Stacey’s first celebrity friends to comment. She wrote: "Amazing. Rex's little Stace. Beautiful boy, happy 3rd Birthday! You would have the most wonderful day. Jamie, Ronnie, and Lennie, we send you lots of love. We love you, xxx."

A small company called 'CakeTopper Animals' made the dog cake toppers. They specialize in making miniature models of pets from photos. The remaining large cake was decorated with sparklers, and hand-painted with forest decorations as well as shiny gold. Rex was amazed at the accomplishment.

Stacey thanked his fans for their kind messages after a great day of running around the family's garden that had been transformed to fit the theme of the dinosaur party. He had the most simple day and is now falling asleep fast. We are not far behind him.
