Stock exchange in Frankfurt: Dax with slight gains - strong October conclusion

On the last trading day in October, the Dax can again saddle up slight gains. Having recovered more than 9 percent so far this month, investors took it a little slower after a strong previous week. Around noon, the leading index rose 0.17 percent to 13,266.29 points. While the EuroStoxx was also slightly up, the MDax gained 0.60 percent to 23,792.26 points.

The shares of Fresenius and FMC were a support for the Dax, although the medical group and its dialysis subsidiary announced renewed forecast reductions on Sunday due to the currently difficult economic environment. However, it quickly became clear that these had long been priced in. Among traders it was said that some investors probably sensed an opportunity to get started.

The main burden for the Fresenius Group is the subsidiary FMC, whose shares recovered at the top of the Dax by 3.7 percent. Your price dropped by almost 9 percent last Friday due to lower forecasts by US competitor Davita. In the year to date, the FMC price has still more than halved. The recovery also followed the titles of the parent company Fresenius with a Monday increase of 3.5 percent.

The SDax-Wert Shop Apotheke also reacted positively to the final quarterly figures. With fluctuations, it recently went up by 4.1 percent.

After pessimistic comments from analysts, two real estate stocks made a negative impression among German small caps: A downgrade to "neutral" by the investment bank Oddo BHF pushed Patrizia down 4.2 percent to its lowest level since 2013. It was even worse with a price slide of six percent for the Dic Asset investors after Baader Bank downgraded twice. Both experts referred to the currently weak real estate environment as the reason.
