Inflation: Greek journalists go on strike because of high prices

Greek journalists went on a 24-hour strike on Tuesday to protest against the rising cost of living and comparatively low wages. There was no news on the radio or television. The news portals also did not update their reports. "We are witnessing a series of consecutive explosive price increases, creating a crushing situation for families whose income is being destroyed," said ESIEA, the largest journalists' association. Because of the strike, no newspapers will be published on Wednesday.

Inflation in Greece was 3.2 percent in March. The Athens weekly newspaper "To Vima" calculated that in Greece today you have to spend 50 euros on products, while two years ago the same items cost 37 euros.
