US actress Nicole Richie says she likes to mention that she is 42. “My forties are absolutely the most fun decade and I find myself bringing my age into the conversation more than ever,” the daughter of singer Lionel Richie (74) told the US magazine “Interview”.

She does this "simply because I want people to understand the state of mind I'm in," Richie explained. "I'm not some 20-year-old idiot. I'm a 42-year-old woman."

Richie appeared alongside Paris Hilton in the reality series "The Simple Life" in the early 2000s and was considered the so-called "it girl" at the time. Last week, the new comedy "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead" was released in the USA, in which Richie can be seen alongside Simone Joy Jones.
