A difficult situation to manage for the authorities

The defense Forces of Mozambique (FDS) were confirmed in the evening that "terrorists" had launched the last week of the "coordinated attacks" on several villages near the port to attempt to occupy the city. "At this time, operations are underway to neutralize the terrorists, who use the populations of these areas as shields," said the FDS in a press release.

In its latest report published Wednesday, the Acled wrote that " the insurgents and government security forces clashed more or less constant in the region since the evening of 5 August ". In may, the united nations has estimated the number of displaced due to these attacks to at least 210 000. In spite of the turmoil in the region, Total has stated that it would go ahead with his project gas of $ 23 billion.
