Wife of German real estate billionaire awarded 37 million pounds

Originally from Germany, Fuchs moved to the United States in the 1990s and married French journalist Collardeau-Fuchs in New York in 2012. The couple have two children.

Part of the dispute was how much maintenance Fuchs should pay his future ex-wife annually. While Collardeau-Fuchs asked for £1.2million, Fuchs felt £350,000 was fair. It was said that he didn't want to wrap his children in luxury, but rather teach them the "value of money".

According to the High Court in London, money "was never a concern" for the couple, who had homes and staff in the Hamptons, New York, Paris, Miami, Antibes, Capri and London.

Following the couple's split, Collardeau-Fuchs stayed at the family's six-storey west London home, which Fuchs says is worth £30million.

The couple's joint legal fees add up to £4.3million.
