A 38-year-old driver claims to have hit a 71-year-old cyclist on the island of Rügen because of the low sun. The senior fell in the accident in Dranske and suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, the police said on Tuesday evening. He was taken to the University Hospital in Greifswald by rescue helicopter. The total property damage is estimated at around 2600 euros.
