A herd of giant and colorful giraffes surprised passers-by in the Plaza Mayor last Wednesday night. They swung their supple necks and slender silhouettes unconcerned about bumping into surrounding facades as they flirted with the audience. The show by the French company Compagnie Off thus became the letter of introduction of what this edition is the International Festival of Theater and Street Arts (TAC), which after two editions conditioned by the pandemic, has returned with all its potential and "more street" than ever.

He has been immersing visitors and people from Valladolid in his magical world of juggling, clowning, and impossible acrobatics for two days, like the ones that could be seen yesterday by the vertical dance show by the also French Cie Lezards Bleus at the Science Museum. .

There are another three days ahead in which more than forty companies (thirteen of them international and five with local artists) will transform 38 spaces in the city into improvised stages.

There are many and very diverse proposals. Three absolute premieres stand out among them: 'Geometries of Light', the work of Javier Riera based on light projections made on the vegetation and the landscape, which could be seen yesterday on the Paseo del Príncipe del Campo Grande and which repeats the show today and tomorrow (10:30 p.m. and 1:30 a.m.); the puppet theater 'Autostop', by the Valladolid-based El Silo-Casa de Cultura, with two locations (CIC El Empeciano and Portugalente), today and Sunday (8:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m./7:00 p.m., respectively), and the performance 'Nomads in Acción' by LokoLook, which will tour the streets this Friday with its mobile hairdresser (Fuente Dorada, Calle Regalado, Teresa Gil and Plaza España, from ️11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.).
