Lukas Klaschinski: "Toxic" has become a real fashionable term for describing dysfunctional relationships in recent years. The word "toxic" was named word of the year by the Oxford Dictionary in 2018 and has since spilled over into the German-speaking world. While the term "toxic relationship" is now often used interchangeably to mean that a relationship isn't going well, there are some hallmarks of true toxic relationships.
