Spring auction: Picasso painting worth millions is auctioned in Cologne

A Picasso painting estimated at 1.5 to 2.5 million euros will soon be auctioned in Cologne. It is about "Buste de femme" (Woman's Bust) from 1971, said the auction house Van Ham. "Probably a comparable painting by Pablo Picasso has never been offered on the German auction market," said auctioneer Robert van den Valentyn. Picasso's second wife Jacqueline Roque can be recognized in the picture. It comes from an important German private collection. Among the more than 600 works with a total volume of over ten million euros are works by Louise Bourgeois, Paul Klee, Sigmar Polke, Egon Schiele and Kurt Schwitters. This year's Van Ham spring auction will take place on June 5th and 6th.
