Mannheim: Suspected jewelry thieves after a lightning burglary in custody

After the flash burglary with a car in a jewelry store in Mannheim, two of the three suspects came into custody. A spokesman for the public prosecutor's office in Hanover said on Saturday that the third party would not be brought before a magistrate until later because of health problems. This is responsible because the 26, 34 and 35-year-old men are said to have robbed jewelry shops in the Lower Saxony state capital.

The trio is said to be part of a gang that breaks into jewelers with changing occupations. The suspects are said to have driven their car into the shop window on Friday night, stolen jewelry and then fled. Investigators initially gave no information about the amount of the loot.

The police launched a massive manhunt. Officials in Hanau, Hesse, finally arrested the three. According to the spokesman for the public prosecutor's office, the two older people were transferred to Hanover on Saturday. It will be decided in Frankfurt whether the 26-year-old will be taken into custody.
