After the defeat of his SpVgg Greuther Fürth at FC St. Pauli, coach Alexander Zorniger struggled with one scene in particular. When the score was 1-1, defender Gideon Jung lost the ball to St. Pauli's Lukas Daschner and was the last field player to foul him in front of his own goal. The Franconians, who were in danger of relegation, were rewarded for a strong initial phase with Ragnar Ache's 1-0 lead (6th). The striker was there again four minutes later. But after review by the video referee, the referees ruled offside. That was a millimeter decision, Zorniger noted.

"I think we gave St. Pauli problems in the first half that they couldn't answer," said the Fürth coach. Hrgota gave his team a "very, very good game".

It was all the more annoying for SpVgg that they still suffered their fourth away defeat in a row on Saturday. On the one hand, that was due to the red card and, on the other hand, to the Fürth defenders, who seemed sleepy when they conceded.

"It's small mistakes that punish you in football," said Hrgota, adding: "We have to do better." St. Pauli's Manolis Saliakas (13th) and Oladapo Afolayan (55th) exploited the gaps in the visitors' defense and shot Hamburg to their seventh consecutive win.
