Film: Pamela Anderson in “Naked Gun” remake

Liam Neeson is getting female reinforcements for the planned new edition of the “Naked Gun” slapstick. Former “Baywatch” icon Pamela Anderson is joining the cast of the Paramount Pictures production, US trade publications “Deadline.com” and “Hollywood Reporter” reported. Anderson posted one of the reports in an Instagram story. Paramount Pictures recently announced the film for July 2025.

Born in Northern Ireland, Neeson (71) takes on the star role of the scatterbrained police officer Frank Drebin, who was once made famous by Leslie Nielsen, who died in 2010. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Anderson (56) will play his love interest, a role that went to Priscilla Presley in the original film series. The three "Naked Gun" comedies - "The Naked Gun", "The Naked Gun 2½" and "The Naked Gun 33⅓" - were released in cinemas between 1988 and 1994.

For the new edition, former "Saturday Night Live" author Akiva Schaffer ("Hot Rod - Through Hell") is responsible for directing and scripting. “Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlane is on board as a producer.

Anderson rose to fame alongside David Hasselhoff in the 1990s series “Baywatch,” about Malibu lifeguards. She appeared in films such as Barb Wire, Scary Movie 3 and Superhero Movie. She also had a small role in the 2017 film “Baywatch,” starring Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron. Most recently, she worked on the Netflix documentary “Pamela: A Love Story” (2023).
