After having imposed itself for almost two years to fight against COVID-19, the mask will be ancient history in Quebec as of Saturday.

The acting national director of public health, Dr. Luc Boileau, confirmed on Wednesday that wearing a mask would no longer be compulsory in public spaces.

On the other hand, wearing a mask remains required in public transport, hospitals, medical clinics and CHSLDs. It is also recommended for vulnerable people.

Note that in Montreal, McGill University and Concordia University maintain the obligation to wear a mask on their campuses.
