Flat land as far as the eye can see. Long, narrow pastures are separated from each other by ditches, and water flows in and out like veins. The Holthusen family has been running a dairy farm in the Wesermarsch, more precisely in Brake, for over 50 years. “My parents bought the farm here because they lacked space in Oldenburg,” explains farmer Heiko Holthusen. The 60-year-old farms 250 hectares of pasture with 200 cows - since last year under the label "organic farming".
