Christmas decorations: Making poinsettias: How to make decorative stars out of paper bags

Homemade Christmas decorations not only have a personal touch, but making them is also a fun (family) activity. It is particularly easy to make poinsettias from conventional sandwich bags. The paper bags are available in different colors and sizes, as well as numerous patterns, so that each crafted poinsettia looks unique. You can find out what you need for the handicraft campaign here.

Stars made from sandwich bags are popular because they are easy to make yourself and look great. The bags for the handicraft campaign are also available cheaply in every supermarket. Children can easily make the stars themselves with a little help from their parents.

What you need for the crafting activity:

Place a bag of bread on the table, open side up. Imagine an inverted T and apply it to the bag with the glue stick. Five to seven more paper bags follow in the same pattern. Make sure, however, that all open sides are facing up. You can then cut the pattern of your choice into the bags with scissors. You can find patterns for Christmas stars made from sandwich bags, for example here online or on YouTube. There are also books for poinsettias from sandwich bags with creative ideas. Last but not least, you can unfold the star and either glue it together or staple it together with a paper clip. The latter has the advantage that you can fold the star up to save space after Christmas and hang it up again next year. The star can then be hung up with a thread.
