Actress and author Andrea Sawatzki (59) is involved in a PETA campaign against illegal dog trafficking. In the new motif of the animal protection organization, the artist sits in a dirty box as an intimidated four-legged friend together with the real little black and white dog Romy.
According to the organization, countless, specially bred puppies that are separated from their mothers far too early are transported hundreds of kilometers every day to be sold in Germany by dubious dealers.
The popular artist appeals: "If you want to adopt a dog, go to your local animal shelter or find out about reputable animal welfare groups that can help with the placement. Please do not buy dogs from the Internet under any circumstances, there are so many questionable dealers there."
Andrea Sawatzki and husband Christian Berkel (65) recently had three dogs. The black newcomer "Lilou is 3 months old and a wild mix of Belgian shepherd and standard poodle" and was even on a reading tour in Salzgitter and Quedlinburg, as Sawatzki currently announces on her Instagram account. The four-legged friend comes from Undines Hundehilfe e.V.
