FLAGSTAFF (Ariz.) -- Federal authorities announced Wednesday that a woman and her sons were being held in connection to the murder of her husband in Washington.

U.S. U.S. Marshals Service officials in Flagstaff stated that Brenda Rasmussen and Danny Jones were taken into custody Monday morning in Mohave County. They were being held pending extradition.

They claimed that the three men were suspected in the murder of Jerry Rasmussen, 64, in Stevens County Washington in September last year.

According to authorities, the victim was shot in the head and then buried underneath a shed. Brenda Rasmussen originally reported her husband missing.

A Stevens County Sheriff's Office investigation revealed that a cadaver dogs was brought to the residence by the family and alerted authorities about the newly constructed shed.

According to authorities, search warrants were issued at the property in December. A decomposing victim was found in concrete under the shed.

The three suspects fled Washington State by then and arrest warrants were issued.

Late last month, the Marshals Service received information that the suspects might be hiding in Mohave County. They were eventually arrested.

Brenda Rasmussen and her sons did not have lawyers.
