Kebab skewers on the road have brought the Autobahn 81 in Baden-Württemberg near Lauda-Königshofen to a standstill. A truck lost part of its loaded 21 tons of kebab meat in an accident early on Sunday morning, the police said. Due to a burst front tire, the vehicle had previously skidded, crashed into a concrete barrier and then into the center guardrail. The 20-year-old truck driver was slightly injured.

The damage to the vehicle and the cargo is estimated at around 70,000 euros. A driver behind drove over the kebab skewers and damaged his vehicle. The damage to his car is estimated at 1,000 euros. The motorway between the Tauberbischofsheim and Ahorn junctions in the direction of Stuttgart was temporarily completely closed for the clean-up work.
