New collection: Kanye West releases sock shoes and is met with heavy criticism from fans

Have you ever thought about how practical it would be if the socks and the shoes were one and the same item of clothing? Apparently Kanye West does. The singer, who often presents wild, new styles under his fashion label Yeezy, has now designed a sock shoe.

"YEEZY presents the foldable future of footwear, YZY POD," the rapper and fashion designer wrote in a screenshot previously posted on X. YZY POD is the name of the latest footwear, which the rapper praises as the perfect travel companion. Ye, as Kanye West now wants to be called, wants an impressive $200 for the sock shoe and says that you “shouldn’t accept imitations.”

Although it is the first launch since ending its contract with Adidas in October 2022, the brand's fans are reacting furiously: "$200 for a sock is crazy," one X user wrote, while another quipped: "It's $200 per sock or do you get a pair?"

There was also incomprehension about the new launch on the social media platform Instagram, with one follower writing: "Bro, screw these ugly clothes, where is the album?" According to media reports, there will actually be a new album called “Vultures” soon.

There are many comments like this. The disappointment of being presented with clothing as a launch instead of the album seems great.

Many others are wondering about the sizes of the shoes in the comments section. They wonder what the numbers “1,2,3,” could mean. A user seems to have cracked the code and writes: "1: Below US 6 / EU 39, 2: US 7 - US 9.5 / EU 40 - 43, 3: US 10 - US 13 / EU 44 - 47", because apparently A sock shoe doesn't have to have an exact fit like a normal shoe, but rather fits like a normal sock. Whether this will be detrimental to running in the future has not yet been discussed in the comments column.
