Christian Yelich ties major league record

In major league baseball history, only five players have hit three carousels in their careers. Christian Yelich of the Milwaukee Brewers became the sixth Wednesday, in a losing cause against the Cincinnati Reds.

The 30-year-old has accomplished an extraordinary feat by joining a very select group made up of Bob Meusel, Babe Herman, John Reilly, Adrian Beltre and Trea Turner. The latter had been the last to record a carousel, last season.

Despite a double in the first inning, a home run in the third, a single in the fifth and finally a triple in the ninth round at bat, the designated hitter couldn't do enough for the Brewers, who lost 14-11 to the Reds. .

“I would have preferred to win the match. Funny things happen in baseball. Anytime you can pull off a carousel, that's pretty cool. I will try to enjoy it as much as possible,” Yelich said after the game, according to ESPN.

The Californian has passed his three "cycles" against the same team, which is a first. He had two in 2018.

“Several things have to happen to hit a carousel. It's hard enough to get four hits in a major league game, and to get the right type, there's an element of luck," he admitted.

Yelich finished the game with three RBIs, in addition to crossing the plate twice. See his performance above!
