According to the security expert Christian Mölling, the stationing of Russian nuclear weapons in Belarus is a breach of the nuclear non-proliferation treaty, an attempt at intimidation and an action that – if the West did something comparable – “Russia would freak out”. Nevertheless, in an interview for the stern podcast "Ukraine – the situation" on Sunday, Mölling was confident that the use of nuclear weapons in Europe was no closer: "No, not at all," assured the research director of the German Society for Foreign Relations.
