B.C. Liberals will vote for a new leader

Seven candidates are running for the leadership. They include legislators Michael Lee, Ellis Ross, and Rene Merrifield, as well as business leaders Gavin Dew and Val Litwin, Stan Sipos, and Kevin Falcon (a former B.C. cabinet minister.

Vikram Bajwa, a party member, has requested the B.C. In a petition, the Supreme Court requested that Saturday's release of leadership results be delayed for 15 days. The party also provided details about a membership audit.
David Wasyluk, a party spokesperson, said that the party would appear in court Friday to answer the petition. However, it believes that it has taken reasonable steps and determined that all new members are eligible for voting.
 

During the leadership process, more than 20,000 party members were added.

Wasyluk states that 1,140 of them were not in compliance. However, another 1,423 members were being confirmed.

Andrew Wilkinson, the party's leader, resigned following the party’s defeat in 2020 provincial elections.
