Wolfgang Draeger (1928-2023) died on January 23 at the age of 95. Kerstin Draeger, daughter of the German actor and voice actor, announced this on Instagram.
"Dear dad, we were just up in your beloved mountains for your 95th birthday... and now you just wanted to get even higher," writes Kerstin Draeger about an old picture on which she appears to be with her brother Sascha as a child whose father can be seen. "Say hello to me mom and Stefan in heaven. I love you."
Draeger appeared alongside Harald Dietl and Horst Keitel in the 1956 fairy tale film "Tischlein, deck dich". Most people, however, are probably most familiar with the voice of the deceased. Wolfgang Draeger was, among other things, the German spokesman for Woody Allen (87) and the "Sesame Street" bird Bibo. He also spoke roles in numerous radio plays, such as that of Commissioner Glockner in the "TKKG" series and that of Commissioner Reynolds in "The Three ???".
The radio play label Europa also confirmed Draeger's death. "Today we received sad news: Wolfgang Draeger, our dear Commissioner Glockner and Commissioner Reynolds, died at the age of 95," says a picture of the voice actor on Instagram. "Our thoughts are with his relatives and we will never forget you, dear Wolfgang Draeger. Thank you for many years full of wonderful radio play stories."
