Wendler documentary soap deleted: The Geissens praise the "courage" of the station

Just a few hours after the announcement of a new docu-soap about the pregnancy of Michael Wendler's (50) wife Laura Müller (22), RTLzwei canceled the project again last Wednesday (March 15). In a statement, the broadcaster justified the end of the format with the massive headwind from its viewers.

Robert (59) and Carmen Geiss (57), who have had their own format on RTLzwei for many years with "The Geissens – A Terribly Glamorous Family", also criticized. They threatened the broadcaster on Instagram with an exit. "We distance ourselves in the strongest terms from corona deniers and people who call Germany a 'concentration camp'," they wrote in a statement. "Conspiracy ideological statements are not our style. Even if it means that the Geissens stop at RTLzwei!"

After the broadcaster's decision, the couple spoke again in an Instagram post: "As you probably noticed, yesterday there was a quick turnaround in terms of the planned docu-soap. We welcome the fact that the broadcaster has the courage proved to reverse his decision." The two are in contact with the broadcaster boss and colleagues and are happy "that responsibility has been taken on here".

"The Geissens - A Terribly Glamorous Family" has been running on RTLzwei since 2011 and is currently in its 21st season. The family around mother Carmen, father Robert and the two daughters Shania (18) and Davina (19) are accompanied in their everyday life in Monaco, St. Tropez and on trips.
