"The Witcher": Season three comes in two parts

The third season of The Witcher is coming to Netflix in two parts. This is revealed by the first teaser that the streaming service published on YouTube today. Part one starts on June 29, 2023, the second edition will follow on July 27 of this year.

Netflix was actually known for always releasing series in one piece. In recent years, the streaming giant has also experimented with two-part releases. The fourth season of "Stranger Things" was released in two parts in 2022, in May and July.

There had already been rumors about a two-part broadcast, but nothing was confirmed. So the announcement in the teaser came as a surprise. Otherwise, the clip does not reveal much about the story of the new episodes. But it hints at a dark atmosphere. "Now, for the first time, I understand what true fear means," says Henry Cavill (39), aka Geralt of Rivia.

Yesterday Netflix had already announced a reveal for today. "Hold on tight. See you tomorrow," one tweet said. Netflix also showed the first poster for the third season.

In the poster, Henry Cavill's Geralt and Freya Allan (21) as Ciri hug with a worried look. Anya Chalotra (26) looks anxiously out of the picture as Yennefer. In the meantime, Netflix has published more pictures of the stars – but without revealing these details about the plot.

The third season is also the last with Henry Cavill in the title role. He will be replaced by Liam Hemsworth (33) in the already confirmed fourth edition.
