Ski accident trial: Gwyneth Paltrow wins lawsuit

Gwyneth Paltrow (50) has won the trial of a collision on a ski slope. After eight days of testimony, a grand jury in Park City, Utah, ruled in the lawsuit filed by retired eye doctor Dr. Terry Sanderson said the actress and entrepreneur was not to blame.

The 76-year-old had claimed Paltrow ran him over at Deer Valley Resort in 2016, causing him ongoing health problems. He initially sought $3.3 million in damages in 2019, but that lawsuit was dismissed. A second process was now about the sum of 300,000 US dollars (about 280,000 euros).

Paltrow filed a countersuit, demanding a token dollar. The actress' attorney told the court that Sanderson drove into his client in the accident, not the other way around.

In a statement she shared on an Instagram story after the trial, Paltrow said she was "satisfied with the outcome and appreciates the hard work of Judge Holmberg and the jury," thanking them for their care in handling this case. According to BBC News, Sanderson said the verdict was "very disappointing".
