Princess Madeleine: Royal moves back to Sweden with family

Madeleine of Sweden (40) has lived with her family in the USA for several years. But the youngest daughter of Queen Silvia (79) and King Carl XVI. Gustaf (76) move back to Sweden. The royal family announced this on March 7th. Together with her husband, Christopher O'Neill (48), and their children Leonore (9), Nicolas (7) and Adrienne (4), they return home.

"Her Royal Highness Princess Madeleine and Mr Christopher O'Neill will move to Stockholm with their children in August 2023," the official statement said. The couple have decided to move their center of life back to Sweden "indefinitely". The family will permanently reside in an apartment in the Royal Stables in the Swedish capital.

The palace also provides information about the future school careers of Madeleine's children. Princess Leonore and Prince Nicolas will go to a primary school in Stockholm from autumn, Princess Adrienne will attend a preschool.

In the summer of 2018 it became known that Madeleine and her family were leaving their adopted home of London and moving to Florida. She had previously lived in the USA, where she met her current husband, whom she tied the knot in 2013. The princess regularly travels to her homeland, most recently she visited with the whole family at Christmas.

Madeleine recently shared a very special photo on Instagram. At the end of February she published a picture with the kids from New York. "Nine years later, Leonore is back in NYC," the princess wrote. Their eldest daughter was born in February 2014 in the Big Apple. Maybe Madeleine wanted to show her Leonore the city of her birth before she goes back to Sweden.
