The house of former Bayern goalkeeper Jean-Marie Pfaff has been broken into. At the time of the crime in the Antwerp suburb, Pfaff was reportedly in his museum in his home town of Beveren. However, his wife Carmen Pfaff was at home and was surprised by the burglars. Their daughter Kelly confirmed to a Dutch newspaper: "Mom was ironing at home when suddenly three men entered the house and stood in the living room."

The family cannot yet speak about the exact circumstances because the investigation is still in full swing. However, various valuables such as watches and jewelry were apparently stolen. Pfaff's wife also suffered a shock during the burglary, which is said to have lasted around 30 minutes, and was "as a precautionary measure taken to the hospital for examinations," Kelly Pfaff is quoted as saying. According to the circumstances, her mother is doing well and there is no danger.

Jean-Marie Pfaff moved from his hometown club SK Beveren to German record champions FC Bayern Munich in 1982. He kept goal there until 1988 and, as the successor to club legend Sepp Maier, matured into one of the best players in the position. In 1990 he finally ended his career as an active player with the Turkish club Trabzonspor.
