Hollywood actress Melanie Lynskey ("The Last of Us") said she only found out from her current husband's family that he had proposed to her. "My husband's first proposal was so confusing," said the 46-year-old New Zealander, who is married to US actor Jason Ritter (44, "Frozen II"), on Jimmy Fallon's "Tonight Show".

Lynskey described that Ritter stopped the television and gave her “this strange speech,” during which she occasionally wondered whether he was breaking up with her. "I didn't know what was happening." He also gave her a ring, but she didn't classify it as an engagement ring. Apparently Ritter skipped the part where he asks Lynskey if she wanted to marry him because, as she explained, she thought his words were just a "nice conversation."

"And then three days later we visited his family for Christmas and he said, 'We're engaged!' - I said, 'Are we?'" The actor couple, who also have a daughter together, married in 2020 "Since then he has been very sweet and he has proposed to me over and over again," says Lynskey. Most recently, her husband asked for her hand in marriage again for her birthday.
