Experts judge Magnussens season: 'It has probably worsened his chances'

In the weekend rounds Kevin Magnussen both a turbulent and frustrating season in Abu Dhabi, which has many positive memories.

And while the dane has learned something important Bahis Siteleri of the difficult season, so the potential to move to a bigger team in the near future much more difficult, believe two motorsportseksperter, as B. T. has asked to pass judgement on Magnussens season - and to make predictions into the dane's future.

"He has done the best he could with the car he has had,"

How to say motorsportsekspert of the Swedish Aftonbladet, Anna Andersson, who does not have many words of praise left over for the Haas VF-19 car, which in the majority of the season has been anything but competitive.

"In today's Formula 1 is aerodynamics incredibly important - aerodynamics and tyres. The thing is Haas not managed to redeem. In addition, they have, because they have not been able to find a solution in the course of the autumn, put all our focus on next year, so the same thing does not happen again. So autumn has for Haas been a transportetape, a test for 2020," says Anna Andersson.

Before the season's final race in Abu Dhabi Kevin Magnussen took the four top 10 rankings, 20 WORLD championship points and a total of 16 place in 2019. For comparison, he in the year 2018, the number nine in the overall standings.

the Season's constant challenges with the car has created great frustration in the Haas garage and with Kevin Magnussen. Frustrations, as the dane has handled surprisingly well.

It takes a Formula 1 journalist, among other things, the magazine RACER and official Formula 1 site, Chris Medland.

"He is known to be an aggressive running and have been involved in situations in the past, so you would think that having a heavy car could irritate him and lead to, he would be even more aggressive on the track. Instead he has accepted the car's limits and got some good results when it has been possible, but without doing anything stupid," says Chris Medland.

even Though 2019 has been a year of many difficult challenges, then Magnussen still learn something from the adversity.

"It's positive, he can take with, is the knowledge of why it went as it did this year. And that he is mentally, you have managed to handle the car on the way, as he has. It's going to make him better in the future," says Anna Andersson, and it's Chris Medland agree:

"He has shown that he can drive a bad car and he has again beaten Grosjean. He has also been dealing with problems well, such as their (Magnussens and the Grosjeans, red.) collisions in the Uk and Germany, which shows that he can be controlled, even though he is a strong character."

But it is not enough to mature mentally as a driver, if Kevin Magnussen must redeem its dreams of greater achievements. According to Chris Medland, so has the difficult 2019 season, at least not benefited his chance to get to run for a bigger team than Haas.

"to be honest, so it was probably worsened his chances, simply because he has had the opportunity to provide the eye-catching results. A bad car to damage the reputation, even if the driver does not have done anything wrong," says Chris Medland.

Anna Andersson is also sceptical about the possibility of a Danish switch to a large groups in near future.

"The longer you are running for the same team without that managed to surprise, the harder it becomes to take that step."

"It is not enough for Kevin to be better than Grosjean. He must have a chance (in a larger team, red.), so he must be better than the rest," she says and points at Kevin Magnussens debut back in 2014, where he in his first Formula 1 race drove himself on the podium.

"It is such things as it, he must do it again to get a chance. And you must be much better than your teammate and the material you have."

the Next season bliverr therefore crucial for Kevin Magnussen as Formula 1's future from 2021 has not yet fallen into place. A new regulation enters into force, but there are still several unknown factors, and many drivers in the field has his contract after next season.

"With many of the major seats available in 2021, he knows that next year will be crucial for him, and he is going to have to deliver," states Chris Medland fixed.
