An onset of winter with snow and ice and stormy weather caused significant traffic delays in northern England and Wales on Friday. Motorists were stuck in the snow for several hours on the west-east axis of the M62 motorway, which runs from Liverpool via Manchester and Leeds to Hull, the British news agency PA reported.
