Space: Four astronauts launched to the ISS

Four space travelers started early Saturday morning (local time) from NASA's Cape Canaveral space station towards the ISS space station. Powered by a Falcon 9 rocket, the US-American Jasmin Moghbeli, the Danish ESA astronaut Andreas Mogensen, the Japanese Satoshi Furukawa and the Russian Konstantin Borisov took off on board the SpaceX capsule "Dragon".

After almost 24 hours, it should dock at the outpost of mankind around 400 kilometers above the earth. The start originally planned for Friday had previously been postponed by one day.

There, the capsule will bring another four-man crew from the ISS back to Earth a few days later. The "Crew 6" consists of the Americans Stephen Bowen and Warren Hoburg, the Russian Andrei Fedjajew and the Emirati Sultan al-Nijadi. There are currently seven people on the International Space Station.

According to the US space agency Nasa, the "Crew-7" mission is the eighth manned flight of the SpaceX spaceship Dragon of multi-billionaire Elon Musk. It is also the seventh rotation of the ISS crew since 2020. The new crew members are to conduct research in space for six months.
