A man drove drunk to a police station in Simmern (Hunsrück) and wanted to be arrested. He was not arrested due to a lack of reasons, the police said on Sunday. However, the man had a breath alcohol level of almost two per thousand in the incident on Saturday evening.

It turned out that he had driven his car to the office and had missed the wall of the office building by just a few centimetres. A blood sample was then taken at the hospital. A criminal case was also opened for drunk driving.
