Police: Gym attack: Lots of clues, no hot lead

Four days after the attack in a Duisburg gym with four serious injuries, the investigators have now received numerous tips. Although photos from a surveillance camera have also been used in the public search since Friday, there has been "no further evidence" so far. This was announced by the Duisburg public prosecutor Jill McCuller on Saturday at the request of the German Press Agency in Düsseldorf. The relevance of the information for the investigation is continuously evaluated.

Investigators published photos from a surveillance camera around the studio on Friday. An approximately 25 to 35-year-old man with a full black beard can be seen walking away from the crime scene. According to the police, several witnesses independently identified the man seen in the photos as a suspect. Four people were seriously injured in the attack on Tuesday evening with a slashing and stabbing weapon.

According to the prosecutor, the 21-year-old, against whom the attack is said to have been aimed, was still in mortal danger on Saturday. Of three other victims who are said not to have been the direct target of the attack, two 24-year-olds are "still in the hospital, but not in mortal danger," reported McCullen.
