North Rhine-Westphalia: Police catches circus zebras on federal highway

"I haven't been drinking, but I see two free-roaming zebras here..." Such calls were received by the Geldern police on the Lower Rhine on Monday. As it turned out, the two zebras Nemo and Monty ran away from a yard. While the police soon managed to arrest Nemo, Monty galloped down the federal highway 9.

A police car reportedly drove up to the animal. One of the officers tried to grab it by the holster. But that didn't work. Together with an attentive truck driver, they finally managed to encircle Monty. Both zebras returned safely to their owner, a showman.
