Lower Saxony: Bramsche: The victim and the suspect are said to have known each other

In the case of the violently killed 19-year-old in Bramsche, the investigators assume that the victim and the alleged perpetrator knew each other. "We assume that the two did not meet for the first time," said the spokesman for the Osnabrück public prosecutor's office, senior public prosecutor Alexander Retemeyer, referring to the crime at a birthday party with around 150 guests. The exact relationship between the two is part of the investigation. A homicide squad was set up.

According to the public prosecutor's office, an autopsy of the body was carried out on Sunday. The result should not initially be announced for investigative reasons, said the spokesman. The alleged perpetrator, a 20-year-old, has not yet provided any information on the allegations. Based on the way the young woman's body was found, investigators are assuming a homicide as well as a sex crime. On Sunday, an arrest warrant was issued on suspicion of murder against the German.

According to the first findings, the 19-year-old was missing at around 1.30 a.m. during the celebration of an 18th birthday. Guests then searched for them together and found them seriously injured in a meadow, police and prosecutors said. Death was then pronounced in the hospital. Initial surveys on Sunday night provided clues about the suspect, who was eventually arrested in his apartment.
