Unknown people destroyed or stole almost 400 election posters in Leipzig in one night. The CDU's election posters for the local elections were hung in the eastern part of the city on Saturday and were damaged or disappeared the next morning, as the police in Leipzig reported on Tuesday.

A main street and adjacent side streets in the district, where many migrants also live, were affected. The election posters were written in German, Arabic and Turkish. The damage could not initially be quantified. A report was filed for theft and damage to property.
