Forecast: Clouds and Sahara dust: Easter weather will be changeable

The Easter holidays in Germany bring changeable weather, but according to the forecast it will remain mild. “There is a lot of excitement in terms of weather this Easter,” says meteorologist Tobias Reinartz from the German Weather Service (DWD) in Offenbach.

According to the DWD, Holy Saturday promises to be friendly and, above all, warm in many parts of the country. In addition to warm air, Sahara dust also reaches us. “And this will cause a lot of clouds, especially in the western parts of the country,” explained Reinartz. Showers and thunderstorms are also possible locally from the afternoon onwards. From the Emsland to the Black Forest it often remains very cloudy. It will be “very to even unusually mild” in large parts of the country.

In the western parts of the country, however, temperatures will probably remain below the 20 degree mark. On Sunday night it will remain mostly dry and only a little cloudy, especially in the east. The temperatures drop to 10 to 3 degrees.

According to the DWD, things will be changeable on Easter Sunday. There are many clouds in the west and northwest. From the edge of the Alps to Brandenburg it often remains sunny. The children's shoes are likely to stay mostly dry during the Easter egg hunt in the morning, although the forecast says it will be mild at 15 to 21 degrees.

From the afternoon onwards, there will be increasing showers all over the west and southwest. On Monday night it will remain cloudy and rainy in the western half - often clear and dry in the eastern half. The lowest values are between 10 and 4 degrees.

It will be cooler again on Monday

The DWD also expects changeable weather for Easter Monday. In the west it rains longer, in the south the sun comes out every now and then and in the east it stays dry and sunny. It remains mild at 13 to 21 degrees. It will probably continue to be unstable and windy after Easter. With highs of just 11 to 16 degrees, it will also be significantly cooler again.
