Hamburg's Mayor Peter Tschentscher (SPD) congratulated Lower Saxony's Prime Minister Stephan Weil on his electoral success. "Good choice in Lower Saxony. Congratulations to Stephan Weil," Tschentscher tweeted. He spoke of a strong mandate for the SPD. "Dear Stephan, good luck in forming a government and we look forward to continued good cooperation in the north!"
